Meet the Waxahachie Cherokee Charmer Directors

Mrs. Erica Pointer-Wilcox

Erica Pointer- Wilcox is originally from Waxahachie, TX where she was a three-year member of the Cherokee Charmers Dance/Drill Team, serving as Captain her senior year in 2003. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Media Communications with a Minor in Dance from Prairie View A&M University. While in college, she was a member of the Classic Dance Ensemble Dance Company for four years, and was an officer her Junior and Senior Year. She is the current director of the Waxahachie HS Cherokee Charmers, and dance teacher at Waxahachie High School. She was the assistant director from 2007-2009 before stepping into the head director role in 2009. She has been with the Cherokee Charmers for the past seventeen years! She started the junior high programs in Waxahachie ISD in 2014, and naming them the Chey-Annes Dance/Drill Teams! Erica has been a staff member with American Dance/Drill Team School since 2012, and has worked with numerous schools, and directors.

Ms. Brittany Claypool, Director WHS Maidens JV drill team 

Brittany Claypool is the former director of the Howard JH Chey-Annes and has over ten years of directing and choreography experience with teams in the DFW area. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in Dallas where she was a three year officer for the Jesuit Rangerettes, serving as Captain her senior Year. Ms. Claypool graduated from Southern Methodist University where she was a member of the SMU Pom Squad. Ms. Claypool currently teaches social studies at Waxahachie High School and has worked for American Dance and Drill Team School since 2010.
